Lately, we’ve been spending a lot of time on the road. In the last month we went from Sicily to Maui- and recovered from a hurricane and a few snow storms in between. We were inspired by it all – we soaked in the citrus trees in Sicily, appreciated the history of Venice and got lost in the perfumes and colors of Hawaii. However, we were most inspired by the stories of Hurricane Sandy – the strength of people who lost everything and went for days without heat and electricity. And then there were the shootings throughout the country – especially the one in Newtown, CT. It hit close to home. It made us feel superfluous, and it humbled us.

As newly engaged couples celebrate the start of their beautiful lives together, we feel a strong sense of camaraderie and the will to go on, to make life better, and to raise responsible human beings. We feel a little quieter and certainly more appreciative than ever. We are inspired by the beauty of nature and the simple things in life. With the start of a new year, we are hopeful that future generations will love and respect each other more.
